Katsina Police impounds 320 Motorcycles, charged 186 to Court over Movement Violation

Following the full enforcement of motorcycles movement in the whole of Katsina state from 7pm to 6am by the Katsina state government, the state’s Police command has impounded 320 motorcycles, arrested and charged 186 violators to court while 134 cases are under investigation.

The was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the Katsina state police command SP Isah Gambo and obtained by Cliqq Magazine

PPRO Gambo stated that ” In line with Community Policing Principles, it has become imperative by the Command to set the records straight and update the good people of Katsina state on the progress so far made in the fight against crime and criminality in the state and the impact of various strategies taken to curve the menace of banditry in the state especially the ban on the movement of motorcycles across the state from 7:00PM to 6:00AM effective from 20th January, 2020 by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Katsina state”.

Isah Gambo further stated that “The Command has so far arrested and charged the following for violations of the Executive Order: No of Motorcycles Impounded 320, No. of suspects charged to court and convicted , 186 and No cases under Investigation 134” .

If you could recall, the Katsina state Government has on 20th January imposed and restricts motorcycle movement by 7pm in an effort to curtail the insucurity menace facing the state.

Cliqq Magazine learnt that, despite such ban, some defiant motorcyclist still disregard the law by commuting after the stipulated time imposed by the government.
